Audio-visual projects

Within the celebrations of the 700th anniversary of the foundation of the City of Bilbao, it was proposed to evolve a series of audiovisuals which would show historic, contemporary and futuristic aspects of the town, creating a special itinerary in the city.
In order for it to be a really special show directed towards a numerous audience, native of Bilbao or visitors to the city, it was decided to project them in the open air, on giant screens supported by emblematic buildings of the city.
Under the title of "Nights of Travel" three Multimedia Projects are included, which conjugate the power of the image, the suggestion of the music and the force of words. Unamuno, Blas de Otero and Aresti add their words to the music of Carmelo Bernaola and Luis de Pablo, together with the images of Alberto Schommer. In order to elaborate this idea the city was treated as a whole unit and was given a concrete form: that of a living organism. Bilbao, as a great breathing body, which moves and thinks. The city was conceived as 3 great vital elements:

And as the great artery which feeds and gives oxygen to the whole of this organism, the main nerve: The river as the life blood, as the vital liquid. The origin and the reason for the existence of Bilbao.
